Welcome to the official setup guide for your Ledger hardware wallet. Follow these steps to securely configure your device and begin managing your cryptocurrencies.
Step 1: Download Ledger Live
Ledger Live is the companion application for your Ledger device. It allows you to manage your crypto assets securely. Download it from the official Ledger website.
Step 2: Connect Your Ledger Device
Use the provided USB cable to connect your Ledger hardware wallet to your computer or mobile device. Ensure the device is powered on and unlocked by entering your PIN code.
Step 3: Initialize Your Device
Upon first use, you'll be prompted to initialize your device. Follow the on-screen instructions to:
- Set up a new PIN code.
- Write down your 24-word recovery phrase and store it securely offline.
- Confirm your recovery phrase to ensure you've recorded it correctly.
Step 4: Install Cryptocurrency Apps
Within Ledger Live, navigate to the "Manager" section. Here, you can install apps for various cryptocurrencies supported by your Ledger device. Select the apps you wish to use and follow the prompts to install them.
Step 5: Add Accounts
After installing the necessary apps, you can add accounts for each cryptocurrency. This will allow you to send, receive, and manage your assets directly from Ledger Live.

- Never share your recovery phrase with anyone.
- Store your recovery phrase in a secure, offline location.
- Only download Ledger Live from the official Ledger website.
- Regularly update Ledger Live and your device firmware to ensure optimal security.
